Functional Description
The GASTRON GIR 3000 is a high-precision infrared gas detector designed for continuous monitoring of combustible gases in industrial environments. It utilizes non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensing technology, which offers excellent stability, long service life (no sensor replacement for 5+ years), and immunity to poisoning from hydrogen sulfide (H2S) or silicone compounds.

This detector features automatic zero calibration, configurable alarm thresholds, and real-time gas concentration display. It is suitable for hazardous locations in oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, and municipal gas applications, providing reliable early warning of gas leaks to ensure workplace safety.
Installation Notes
  • Mount the detector at a height of 0.3-1m above the floor for LPG/heavy gas, or 1-2m below the ceiling for natural gas/light gas.
  • Ensure the sensor window is free from dust, oil, or condensation to maintain detection accuracy.
  • Use explosion-proof conduit for wiring connections and follow local electrical codes for hazardous locations.
  • Calibrate the detector with certified gas mixtures before initial operation and every 6-12 months thereafter.
  • Verify the relay and 4-20mA output signals match the configured alarm levels during commissioning.
  • Perform visual inspection quarterly and clean the sensor window with a soft cloth if contaminated.
